Children’s Crisis Village – OVC – Orphans and Vulnerable Children
The children in our children’s crisis village live in family-like structures, a maximum of 4 girls and 4 boys together with a caretaker (foster mother) in our 7 residential buildings. The children are between 0 and 18 years old, all fates have been identified by our social workers and we need a legal order from the court for each child. The reasons why these children live with us are that they are completely or partially orphaned, they suffer from serious chronic illnesses, they are neglected by parents or family members and/or are severely abused.
CSP Child Sponsorship Program
Our Lichtstrahl sponsored children are vulnerable children who are identified and cared for by our social workers. They do not live in our children’s crisis village, but in their family environment, but due to a mild form of domestic violence and neglect, extreme poverty, or serious chronic illnesses, we offer a 24/7 contact point for them and their families. For these children, sponsors cover the costs of school fees and school materials.
