Craft and Coffee Shop
A vision became reality! We often thought about our own re-income project and as coffee lovers, having our own café was of course very obvious! But not just any café – as a Münster club, a real roast bar would of course be awesome! In 2015, thanks to the wonderful donation from roestbar from Münster, we were able to open our own Lightray roestbar coffee shop. A café in a country as poor as Uganda? Yes, because for example for young people from all over the world who are completing a voluntary social year, employees of other aid organizations, but also locals who can afford it – our prices are therefore super fair and a real added value – our guests become aware of our Lightray NGO.
Our coffee shop has now developed into a real meeting point and oasis of light. In 2017 we expanded our Ugandan Lightray roast bar to include 2 guesthouses with 4 double rooms… So if you happen to be in Gulu, you not only have the best coffee here, but also a great place to stay overnight in a wonderful ambience!
